Rather than simply naming the shades of The Christopher Lowell Designer Paint Collection bizarre and abstract names, all our fabulous shades are named after food. That’s right, FOOD! Why? Well, after surveying people on how they remember color, we discovered they associate color with food. Think about it – Cherry Red, Tangerine, Blueberry and so on. Who knew?

So we took the concept even further. Now instead of just a lot of paint chip colors to confuse you, we’ve created a gourmet buffet of lip smacking possibilities to choose from.

Think of it as a mental color reference point that really makes sense.

To add even more interest, many of the shades are accompanied by words like creamed, blush, iced, steamed, broiled or braised.

Here’s how it works:

If I say the word Leek, you can imagine that the color is green, like a leek. Now, with the addition of the words, creamed, blush or iced, the color gets lighter. So Creamed Leek is a shade of light green…right? Got it? Sure you do.
