Layer 2: Detach & Purge
In this stage, we ask you to go through your home as though you were a visitor and to detach yourself emotionally from your stuff. This third-person attitude will help tremendously when the time comes to let go.
Now that you have assessed your clutter situation and dedicated the time to deal with it, don’t chicken out.
Don’t worry about the harder decisions to down the road. Right now, your best and most effective strategy is procuring the proper trash bag.
Make two piles: Giveaway and Trash
Bag it up and get rid of it.
