Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.

Habitat has built more than 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. Throughout the world, the cost of houses varies from as little as $800 in some developing countries to an average of nearly $60,000 in the United States. Habitat houses are affordable for low-income families because there is no profit included in the sale price.

Families in need of decent shelter apply to local Habitat affiliates. The affiliate’s family selection committee chooses homeowners based on their level of need, their willingness to become partners in the program and their ability to repay the loan.

Project Angel Food's mission is to nourish the body and spirit of men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses.

Their meals, prepared by professional chefs and volunteer assistants, are nutritiously-appropriate, attractive and always made with the freshest ingredients. Our registered dietitians provide clients with individual, nutritional counseling. There is no charge to clients for these services.

Clients are grouped into 90 geographically-based routes, ranging from Lancaster to Long Beach. Volunteers, using their own vehicles, deliver from 6 to 10 meals per route. Our central kitchen is located in Hollywood. Meals are also distributed via satellite drop-off points in North Hollywood, Pasadena, Silverlake, Santa Monica, South Central Los Angeles and the Antelope Valley.

Since its inception in 1989, the Project Angel Food Program has prepared and delivered more than 3.4 million meals.

"May No Soldier Go Unloved," is the motto of Soldiers' Angels. Founded by the mother of two American soldiers, this volunteer-led non-profit provides aid and comfort to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. With over 30 programs, volunteers can help in such ways as adopting a solider and sending care packages throughout their deployment, caring for a soldier’s pet during their absence, helping to supply handmade blankets and canes for the wounded as well as funding hero flights for emergency travel assistance. With the assistance of their generous supporters, the many volunteers of Soldiers' Angels have accomplished this and much, much more on behalf of the grateful citizens of the United States of America.
