Lampshade Illuminary
Here's another great idea that can be easily made into a lovely illuminary.
Materials:
- Five cone-shaped lampshades
- One plywood round, the size of the bottom of a lampshade
- Closet dowel
- String of white Christmas tree lights
- Glue gun and hot glue
- Drill
- Power screwdriver
- Wood screws
In the center of the plywood round, drill a hole the diameter of a closet dowel. Set the dowel into the hole perpendicular to the base and screw in place from the bottom.
Wind white Christmas tree lights around the dowel, being sure to place the plug end of the cord at the base of the dowel.
Place the first lampshade right side up (with the largest part of the shade down). Turn the second lampshade upside down so that the top of the shade joins to the top of the first shade. Hot glue the two shades together around the top rims.
Continue adding lampshades, matching top to top and base to base, and hot glue them together until you reach a height you like. We used five lampshades.
Place the glued lampshades over the dowel.
